RULES

• Although I normally go out of my way to avoid "political correctness", you can't have a page like this one without it, so keep it safe for everyone, okay? Besides, there is a difference between being politically incorrect and being a revolting and ignorant loser.
• There is no automation to the site.  Anyone NOT interested in adding to the story can leave now.  This settles the "saboteur" issue since I must manually add new sections to the story.  I also reserve the right to discard or edit any entries for the story.  (I promise to avoid this as much as possible!  If I edit, I'll note it in the story)
• In the event of "multiple entries", I will post BOTH (if possible) or I'll select the entry I like best and post it.  (there will be no selection criteria as such,... it really depends on my mood at the time so don't take it personally if yours is rejected.  If your entry IS rejected then I'll try to post yours next time.)
• There are no "restrictions" as to what can be submitted, but try to be creative and avoid offending content or blatant sexuality.(This is NOT a porn story so no details if you decide to add something like this. This WILL be edited!)
• We'll start with two stories only.  If there is enough interest then I will add the option to begin another story in time.(Mark had 2 going. This one and a Godzilla tale. The Godzilla Story is still up and running at Mark's site. For now, we have only The Lovecraft Tale)
• There are no "length" restrictions either, but you should try to keep your entries limited to a single scene or event.
• If a character dies, he's dead. Deal with it. If you simply can't deal with it, then you'd better make his resurrection pretty darn spectacular or I'll ignore it. However, if it IS really interesting and (pay attention) pertininent I might make an exception...but don't hold your breath. (I don't impress easily.)(I was kicking the daylights outta this point. I kept threatening to bring someone back to life but never got around to it. Now, thanks to the switch-it's my problem now. Perhaps this is why Mark sent this over here so he can torment the daylights out of me with bizzare points of order.)
• A "chapter" will be about 10 entries (dependent on size... it may be more or less than 10).  Downloadable ASCII (text only) files will be current up to all finished chapters.  The recommended method is to download the text of a story (unless it's pretty small or you have LOTS of time) then visit the "current" chapter and read it.  When done, fill out the form and add your section to continue the story.Currently, Chapters 1-4 are available for download. Once we get to Chapter 7, a new file will be posted for downloading.

Feel free to challenge the other writers by doing something unexpected. If you choose to do this however, make sure that you do something NEW. If your submission only serves to undo something that has gone before without taking us someplace new, it will be discarded with extreme prejudice.

Also... if someone does alter a story and you do not like the way it has been altered, you can either grin and bear it or go away. We won't miss you. Anyone who goes out of their way to make any previous entries invalid doesn't belong with this creative group.

I may add more entries here as the page grows and specific examples occur so check back once in a while.  Have fun!
